six weekly emails to hone your skills and up your design game

As entrepreneurs, we need to know how to design: to create the right impact, to build value in our work and to ensure our message is received in the way we’d like. That doesn’t mean that we should all hare off and start creating our own brand identities (leave that to the experts where budget allows). Or that we need to create yellow-pencil worthy creative; we don’t. But we all create design work in house, whether we realise it or not, and we do need the skills, insights and knowledge to be able to create the right impact.

The idea is pretty simple. Each week we’ll focus on a different area of design: a quick win that you can apply to an Instagram graphic, a page in your media kit or a presentation or download you’ve created. The idea is that it’ll take you absolutely no more than an hour to implement - and most likely, it’ll just take ten minutes or so. But across the course of six weeks, the difference should be significant.

You can use whatever you’d normally create your work in - be that Canva, PowerPoint or Adobe Creative Suite. Just as the skill of a great photographer doesn’t lie in the capability of their camera; graphic and brand designers aren’t just ‘good’ because they have the right software. It’s about the skill, experience, insight and know-how, and that’s what this series will introduce you to.

Throughout my career, I’ve been captivated by design and in particular, how you can shape someone's perception of your business, and indeed your value, simply by how you present your brand.

I passionately believe that every entrepreneur has the power to learn how to design and transform how their clients see their message and their expertise. I'm excited to show you how.

This class was originally sent out to The Brand Stylist community in Summer 2022 and I'm thrilled to be able to make this available to you now for a nominal amount. I hope you'll enjoy.

After this

frequently asked questions

is this an online course, like those in the brand stylist academy?

It's not, and I'm really glad you asked. This is a carefully crafted email series that will introduce you to some of the key design principles and show you how to action them to make your work look better. Think of it as a taster into the possibilities and power of design that is available for a modest investment.

What's the difference between this and design for go-getters?

Great question, a lot! Design for Go-Getters is a £400 comprehensive course that will teach you how to design. This £30 introductory email series will give you some powerful insights but it isn't designed to be an all singing all dancing course and the modest price reflects that.

In Design for Go-Getters we use a mixture of teaching methods and media to really show you the detail and help you practice what you've learned. This email series is a brilliant way to dip your toe into the world of design.

What software will i need?

Whatever you use normally to create your collateral. The way I teach design is always to show you the principles of design rather than the nuts and bolts of the software. Once you understand what proximity or alignment is, and how it works, you can apply it to whatever you're working on, in whatever programme, and that's really important.

Everything has the power to look gorgeous and on brand and I'm excited for the potential of this for you.

What is the refund policy?

Digital products are, by their very nature, non-returnable and therefore all online learning products are non-refundable. This is a light but powerful email series and it's important to be clear that this was not designed to be an in-depth online course but rather a weekly primer that is designed to bring more awareness of design principles and allow you to put these into practice, one week at a time.

you offered this for free in 2022, why are you now charging for it?

I gift a huge amount of knowledge, insights, training and resources to those in The Brand Stylist community because I really cherish your support and I am passionate about raising the standard of branding for us all. There are two, long and in-depth seminars available for free in The Academy along with numerous resources and downloads on the website.

I am fairly sure that this level of generosity of resource is pretty unparalleled for businesses like mine.

There is a lot of value in the Design Camp series and it felt appropriate to make this series available for a modest investment. I know that it will more than deliver on the price, and it goes some way towards supporting my business and my family.

For the Summer of 2023 I've created a Resonant Brand Summer School and my plan is to gift this to the subscribers amongst you for the Summer holidays and then add this as a paid plan for the Autumn. Think of it as my way of saying a huge thank you for your continued support.
